| What Do I Do After I Join?
So you have joined up and the judge has sent you back a character sheet and instructions. Now you can play! Here are some things that you can, and probably should, do to play the game. 1: Join A Faction. While you can play Egregore solo, for a first time player we highly recommend joining a faction. Hopefully whoever asked you to join the game can get you into her faction. Otherwise you need to start making more friends in Egregore so you can join one (see below) or you can just recruit four other people and make your own faction. 2: Start gathering clues and information. Chances are people in your
faction are more than willing to share clues with you. You might start
with some clues or information as well if you picked the right professions.
There is usually information available to all players on the web site.
Look at these clues and see if any make sense to you. If you have information
skills or spells that allow you to ask for more information from the judge
then do so. Gathering the clues and information will allow you to find
the missions and nodes.
4: Look for nodes. It's usually fairly easy to find nodes. Other people in your faction can probably tell you where some are. Others you might find through other players or by following clues. Attuning to a node gives you ether and may help you out in other ways as well. 5: Go on missions. Missions are usually given out by plot characters, spirits, deities and demons. If your character has access to these missions by all means go on them. Most missions allow more than one person to do them so you can bring your faction members along, or they can bring you along. 6: Solve the storylines: There is an actually plot line behind each season of Egregore. Try to connect the clues and figure out what it is. This may unlock more missions, help you figure out what you want to do in the game or be very valuable information to trade with other players. 7: Gather resources: Ether is the most common resource in the game, but tradesmen can make many items that are also useful. If you are a spellcaster gaining new spells is good. Any resources will make your character more powerful and make the game easier for you. If you have a tradesman class make items. These can be used by you, given to faction members or traded to other players for ether, other items or information. 8: Complete your professional goals: Each profession comes with goals that will give you ether. Figure out how to accomplish these goals. 9: Read the rules: While there are a lot of rules in Egregore knowing them will help you play the game quite a bit. Skip any of the following sections that do not pertain to your character: Professions, skills, "spirits, deities and demons," spells, list of spells and crafting recipes. Even if they do apply you only have to understand the spells, skills and such that you have. You absolutely must know the laws and should know most of the other rules. This page will make a lot more sense after you read the rules. |
